OFFICERS TAKE ACTION IN LETCHWORTH
On Tuesday 19th May 2026, officers from the Letchworth & Baldock Neighbourhood Policing Team were on patrol along Norton Way South when they spotted an electric motorcycle being ridden without a helmet — only a balaclava to protect his head — with the rider attempting to taunt officers by performing wheelies and circling a roundabout.
Instead of engaging in a pursuit, officers made the smart decision to deploy SelectaDNA tagging spray.
The search didn’t last long
The rider was located on Highover Road, crossing the footbridge, where officers swiftly brought the incident to a safe conclusion and detained him.
The rider has now been reported to court for:
Driving without a valid certificate of insurance
Driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence |
